Industrial Organization and Industrial Policy

ECTS credits: 5

Course Description

The module covers several subject areas particularly derived from micro economics. Emphasis is given on the theory of the firm, the economies and anti-economies of scale, production and cost theory. In addition monopoly, oligopoly structure, price determination, entry competition, market structure, advertising, vertical/horizontal integration and R&D will be analysed extensively. Finally, firm’s strategic behaviour will be analyzed from the perspective of game theory.
